Some concern has been battered around the web lately about the banning by Google of Affiliate Marketers using Adwords.
Although there are legitimate and well established companies, they also use affiliate programs and have remained strong. The are literally thousands of them; to list a few includes Turbo Tax, Norton Anti-virus, Zappos Shoes, Weight Watchers, Pet prescriptions and pet product, lawn and garden companies, Rosetta Stone language learning and Travelocity to name a few. They are reputable companies that offer terrific products and service.
Promoting a product you have used will add value to your site. Get feedback from trusted customers, and add testimonials of those who have used the product as well, even friend and family. This is the best way to get the true experience of a customer and not put words in their mouth. It is the tried and true way to endorse a product.
Look for ways to create a niche or a angle for your products by creating a scenario around it. Clients looking at Weight Watcher ads are looking to lose weight, for example. If you can tie your product into that angle, the possibilities are endless in order to hook them in and wanting to learn more about your product. Are they going to a special event like a wedding or a class reunion?
The only security in business is to hone your craft and to be really good at copywriting, negoitiating and buying traffic, as well as other direct marketing skill. Affiliate marketing is selling to a consumer wthout the face to face part of sales. The days of easy profits from affiliates are long gone. Joint venturing and sales are the proven winners when all is said and done.
